What’s in the book is not important…
by JoeSo Joe Torre wrote a book about his Yankee years. Little tid bits are leaking out…Arod called A-Fraud by teammates, throwing Cashman under the bus. It almost doesn’t matter what is in the book. What, in God’s name, possessed him to write this book ? It couldn’t be the money. He makes 5 times more in one year from the Dodgers alone than he will get from the book. I think the fact that he wrote this book tells you some things about Torre that he hid very well during the 12 years he was in NY. He is mean and egotistical and maybe vindictive. This is just stupid. Torre left NY looking like the classy guy who was done wrong. In my opinion, his reputation now takes a big hit. He is still managing. How will this play out in the Dodger clubhouse? “Gee, I better watch what I say in front of Joe. In a couple of years he may write another book about us” I know I should read the book before I pass judgement, but I can’t see any positive spin for Torre, regardless of what is in the book.
