This is crazy
by RussWe went several days without any posts to several within a couple of hours because of Torre’s book. What? No Super Bowl? Anyway…. I look at this like a family, airing the dirty laundry for public consumption – can’t be good. We are sure to give A-Rod his hits for not coming through in the postseason, but let’s be honest, he should have been treated better. Everyone wants the production A-Rod has to offer (Torre and Jeter) because it helps the team win over a 162 game schedule (see 2007 season) but it’s A-Rod who has to make himself comfortable – how about helping that along? Anyway, A-Rod creates many of his own problems but Torre and Jeter didn’t do all they could have done to help A-Rod. I’m curious as to whether Torre comments on David Wells’ performance in Game 5 of the 2003 World Series? As far as I’m concerned A-Rod has not had as negative an impact on the Yankees’ chances for a world series victory the way Wells did in that series – granted the Yankees have not been to a series since A-Rod arrived. But hopefully we’ll get to judge A-Rod in that context soon. Oh, and the longer the drought continues while Jeter is still playing – why aren’t the lack of WS appearances attributable at all to him? One could say the early success had more to do with O’Neill, Tino, Bernie, Mo and Cone. I’m not saying there’s a correlation, I’m just saying…. no titles! : )

Did you hear (or hear about) the interview that David Wells gave re THE book? It was on ESPN radio with Michael Kay. I know they didn’t get along … but I understand Wells did not hold back at all! And, of course, the Prince is not talking. The book has opened the door for people to talk about him … and he is completely tarnished! I couldn’t be happier … well, maybe if my Yankee Sunday plan would arrive in the mail tomorrow with 3 fabulous seats compliments of Hal & Hank! Then I could use all my money to park the car instead of looking for street parking!
