Adam Dunn
by RussAdam Dunn is not a completely crazy move. If you look at his stats (for the money you would give him), he offers some pretty good production for the buck. He does strikeout alot which may not be what you want for this particular lineup. Also, Dunn doesn’t play CF. I don’t know how that solves the centerfield problem unless you know you can spin him off to a team that can offer you one. Dunn – coming off the bench? He’s been a starting player for several years now, I can’t imagine that he would want to play in that role.

Maybe they spin one of the Matsui/Swisher/Nady into a CF…then put Dunn in RF/DH?
Right. It only makes sense in the context of another deal. Why would we need another corner outfielder/DH type of player? I would even go so far as to say if they are considering acquiring Dunn, then they should move two guys, not one – because they still have Damon. So, Damon-Nady-Gardener (or Melky) and Dunn, that’s four guys only one of which is a CF. I have a feeling the outfield is going to be a constant source of frustration in 2009.
