Russ, I understand what you are saying, however, my opionion of Torre has changed forever.  I admired Torre.  I respected Torre.  And now there is a little less admiration and respect.  Torre says the book has nothing to do with his departure from the Yankees. He also says that the book was in process during the 2007 season.  So far, no one has asked him “if he was still the manager of the Yankees today, would the book have been released?” If he was still the manager of the Yankees, would the book include the “A-Fraud” passages?  Would it include the details of how Steve Donohue would rub linament on Roger Clemens’ testicles on the days that he pitched?  Are these the things he said in public, in his office in front of reporters during his Yankee years, as he now claims in his recent interviews? Are you really telling the truth Joe, when you say there was no malice intended?  It’s OK.  You have the right to write this book and to make money from it.  But don’t expect our opinions of you to be unaffected.  Maybe you just don’t care.
