I’m a glass is half full type of person. I always look for the silver lining.
I watched the entire interview with Gammons. A-Rod did a good job. He seemed more at ease in this interview, more relaxed and less contrived than in many other interviews I’ve seen in the past. Granted, some of his explanations [...]

Buck Showalter on ESPN radio just told Michael Kay that he would not write a book like Joe Torre due to the special relationship a manager has with his players. A trust, etc. with them given the relationship, etc. Way to go Buck. What Joe did was inexcusable regardless of his reason(s).

Unfortunately, Russ, A-Rod won’t become a real Yankee, until Jeter says so.

I’m still very disappointed in him, but that was a well crafted type statement. I am happy and relieved from an organizational standpoint that he made this choice as opposed to the Clemens-Bonds choice of fighting and denying. I think most NY fans will be behind him. The HOF discussion will have to wait.  Â
Maybe, just maybe this [...]

Well. That didn’t take long. A-Rod has admitted using steroids. And he’s really, really sorry.

From rotoworld.com:
Alex Rodriguez admitted to using steroids from 2001-03 while with the Rangers. The interview with ESPN’s Peter Gammons will go online later Monday. It’s currently unclear whether Rodriguez admitted to using substances beyond what SI.com revealed. Going forward with this story was probably A-Rod’s best option. There’s no good reason to believe him if [...]

Here is the real question… Did A-Rod stop taking HGH after 2003, or is he still taking drugs that are one step ahead of the testing curve? If this is true, and he stops now, we will see the inevitable drop off in performance… for the next 9 years. UGH!

First and foremost, this news hurts A-Rod. Of course. This news leaves a black mark on the game itself. And it absolutely hurts the Yankee organization; An organization that prides itself on protecting its brand is now married to a steriod user and perceived liar for the next 10 years.  I’m sure that fits snugly into [...]

I agree with the posts. The Roundtable should offer its services to the media, for a fee of course.
I sincerely hope that A-Rod takes the high road here. If not he will be compounding his mistakes and cement his legacy as one of the best players never to win a WS. The question of the [...]

If politics or baseball has taught us anything, it’s we need a confession. Joe and John are right. A-Rod, forget Boras, Kaballah and the rest…. READ THE ROUNDTABLE. Joe is right – look to the Pettitte model, not the Clemens model. Reach out to the fan base of NY – it makes sense. Look, you’re not [...]
