READ THE ROUNDTABLE.  Joe is right – look to the Pettitte model, not the Clemens model.  Reach out to the fan base of NY – it makes sense.  Look, you’re not going to play anywhere else, if you are straight with the NY fans, I think you’ll be ok.  As far as legacy goes…. people get into trouble when they try to control their own legacy which usually can’t be controlled.  You can’t control how some future population (many of whom have not even been born yet) is going to view you.  It’s impossible to know.  Just let go of this show some remorse, contrition and play baseball and let the rest take care of itself.
