Joe, you don’t mean to suggest that reporters from the NY Times would make stuff up?  They would never do that… oh, wait a second wasn’t there the case of that guy… what was his name?  Jason Blair? 

You bring up a great point though.  A-Rod poorly executed his attack on the reporter.  When he said she was stalking him and stuff, I was like, what is he talking about?  He should have confined his attack to the Duke Lacrosse situation by saying something like:  “This is the same reporter that continued to hound the individuals who were exonerated in the Duke Lacrosse scandal which ultimately cost a District Attorney his job and his law license.  Apparently, she’ll do anything for a story.”  Sure, the response to that is she had four sources but it ties her to the Duke scandal and pinning her to that fiasco would have given his supporters something to hold onto.
