So the scheduled starter today is Brett Tomko.  I have no problem with that, he’s trying to earn a job as a long reliever.  I wish him luck.  However, the second scheduled starter today is Kei Igawa.  Yes, that Kei Igawa.  I’m not going to get “all crazy” on everyone and type how this is a big deal and be critical, blah, blah, blah.

But… (you knew it was coming), is there some sort of mystery that I’m not aware of surrounding Kei Igawa’s pitching ability that I’m not aware of?  Why are we still trying to “find out” about Kei Igawa and his effectiveness to pitch to (and get out) major league hitters (ok some will be ML hitters).  Today’s game is an opportunity to develop a young pitcher and those innings are going to Kei Igawa.  I understand that they may be “showcasing” Igawa so maybe he gets picked up by another club.  I’m not sure how that will go either.  Not a big deal, just something I laughed at on my way in this morning.
