Hope springs eternal

I didn’t mean to suggest from my prior post a doomsday scenario – although plausible, I’m not sure if it is likely.  I think the team is going to do better than that – the pitching is much better.  And, even though I wasn’t on board with the Girardi hiring in the beginning, I want [...]

Yankee Nightmare only begining.

All signs point to the Yankees having no control over tomorrow’s circus.  Apparently they don’t even know who is going to run the session, even though the YES Network will be broadcasting the event live.   The Yankees have no idea what he will be saying, no idea what the message will be, no idea how [...]

The Girardi Watch

I never went to any NY Giants games where the “Goodbye Allie” chant was perfected (I was at Stadium games for “Goodbye Alex” (Webster)), but is Russ tuning the choir for a possible Girardi sequel already. Since a pessimist is an informed optimist -why not,  very plausible arguments, Russ.
By having a great Yankee fan wife I [...]

Girardi may not make through the season

Anything is possible.  The pressure is enormous this season.  We all know that Girardi sort of got as close to a free pass as you can get last year.  But this year – with all the new acquisitions… conventional wisdom and expectations have risen to stratospheric levels again.  The expectations are always high, but this [...]

Girardi may not make it through the season…

I hope Girardi isn’t in over his head. He is going to deal with a TON of pressure…more than ever: New Stadium, Sabathia, Tex, Burnett, A-Rod, Peds, etc. If this team isn’t hot out of the box….LOOK OUT.
There is a chance that Joe doesn’t make it through the season. Is it probable? No. Is it possible? Absolutely [...]

So now there’s a book.

Thanks to tons of free press…Selena Roberts is moving up the publication of her book.   Scheduled to come out in April.  Another roadblock set up for this season.  Another round of press conferences and according to this article in the New York Observer, more details about A-Rod’s steroid use, and details about the whole stripper/divorce angle.  Happy.  Happy.  Joy.  [...]

Letterma’s top ten messages on A-Rod’s answering machine

“Hey, it’s Mark McGwire. Want to get together this week and not talk about the past?”

“Joe Torre here — thanks for helping book sales”

“Could you find a steroid that keeps you from choking in the playoffs?”

“Are you worried this will taint all the championships you didn’t win?”

“It’s Bernie Madoff. Nice try but I’m still the [...]

With charity toward all and malice toward none.

How about that.  Nice tie in Joe.  It wouldn’t kill Jeter to say a thing or two now, but he’s got to be tired of having to comment on A-Rod all the time.  The press always run to Jeter for him to comment on A-Rod’s love life, his marriage, his shirt off in the park, [...]

Jeter

I agree with Joe’s comment on Jeter.  Jeter is always scripted in his responses and tries to do everything perfect.  No one is perfect as we have seen over the years.  A-Rod can actually benefit from this situation by having the monkey off his back and concentrate on playing baseball

Our 16th President and the Yankees

Yes, very nice tie in Joe.
While Teixeira said that he would tell A-Rod that he “loves him”, Melky went one step further and said that he would make love to him. Cano said he would film it.
