Robinson C.
by John SRobbie is back from the World baseball extravaganza (the only interesting thing about the WBC was seeing doe-eyed guitar playing walkabout artist Bernie Williams get in trouble). Cano reports his arm is stiff, and when he left for the WBC it was already stiff. That’s just great. P.T. Barnum said no one ever lost money underestimating the intelligence of the American public. Or of current Yankee second basemen either.
Unrelated- there’s a new book out about umpires – “As They See ‘Em” . Is that the best possible title for a book about umps, or what? Good review on the book in the Times.
