Hate “Dancing” – Me too

I assume John B.’s declaration that he hates “Dancing With the Stars” in yesterday’s post was a trap to see if we were reading to the end. I was. And was rewarded with a reference to Hensley Meulens, whose name sounds to me like it should belong to an overweight bouncer at an Anglo-German strip [...]

Suddenly you’re glad Aaron Boone picked up the basketball.

Poor guy.

Thoughts…

As I watched last night’s game against the Pirates…the following random thoughts came to mind:

Wow Sabathia is really….overweight. Are those the biggest uniform pants available?
I’ve never seen a more sloppy Yankee than Sabathia. And yes, that includes David Wells.
Wow Sabathia is really….good. He is imposing on the mound. And his breaking stuff can be filthy. [...]

Posada and Rivera

This is why I love the Roundtable.  I had every confidence someone would come up with something suitable for Posada.  Good one, Joe.
As for Rivera – Mike that was great.  That’s exactly the kind of player (and person) we have.  Rivera listened to his coach (gave respect), knew he didn’t have all the answers (was [...]

Architectural Reviews of Yankee Stadium and Citi Field

Architectural reviews of Yankee Stadium and Citi Field (a.k.a. Taxpayer Field, Bailout Park, or The TARP).  Generally, the review of Yankee Stadium is pompous but fits in the neighborhood; Citi Field – A theme park in a parking lot surrounded by chop shops and highways.
If you approach it by driving along Jerome Avenue, you see [...]

Rivera

This snipet from Peter Abraham’s Blog yesterday, shows all you need to know about Mo.  The guy is a competitor, the likes of which we won’t see for a long time, in my opinion.  I think, if someone gave him a contract, he would pitch until he’s 50.
Mariano Rivera didn’t seem too worried about his first [...]

Posada

Jeter – The Heart, Rivera – The Soul, Posada – The Balls

Yankees Fact

No pitcher has participated in more games with the Yankees than Mariano Rivera.

Seems like old times

Rivera is amazing.  He is without a doubt one of the greatest players ever to hold a baseball in his hand.  This is going to sound cliche but it is true.  If Jeter is the heart, Rivera is the soul.  The soul in a spiritual sense if anyone has read anything about Rivera (off the [...]

Seems like old times

And Rivera looked great getting a 1-2-3 inning with 2 strikeouts.  He reached 93 mph.  Not bad for his first outing.  The guy is amazing.
