So, did Gardner lose the CF job?

Melky has had a few starts in CF…while Gardner rides the bench. Maybe Girardi finally realized….Gardner is not that good.
Can we see what Austin Jackson can be please? Can we give this guy a few starts? So, they have to wait until next year because that’s the decision they made a few months ago????
The guy [...]

Girardi brought Mo in with 2 outs in the 9th with an 8-3 lead! Enough said! what is he doing?

I really enjoy..

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I could listen to Cone and Singleton all season long. It’s a relaxed broadcast. I don’t miss Michael Kay one bit. It almost peaceful without Kay. No over-the-top calls, no ridiculous discussion, no yelling….just a simple and calm call of the game….and great baseball insight.
I’ve missed [...]

Dear Dave Eiland

Dear Dave,
Please stay away from Phil Hughes and Mark Melancon. Please refrain from offering these players any advice, tips, or delivery reminders.

I’ve seen this movie before

I’m glad for Hughes, especially after his difficulties as one of the Cashman anointed wunderkind of last year. But this happens all the time, a non-rotation guy gets a start, does well, and the media inks him in to the rotation the next day and declares one starter-slot problem solved for the season and beyond.
I’m [...]

The Rich Get Richer – And the Yankees Never Learn.

The Yankees, through Hal Steinbrenner, have issued a statement concerning “price adjustments and benefits” that are being adopted for a few hundred Legends Suite and Delta Sky 360 Suite Licensees and as an inducment to get people to buy the $325 field level seats.
However, this “compromise” does nothing to affect the average fan and is clearly aimed [...]

Evaluation

As pathetic as this team looks, I’m not sure it’s THAT bad. Other than Wang, the starters don’t look horrible.

Sabathia pitched well yesterday. He stuff was working and his fastball looked good. A better  right fielder would have caught that home run.
Burnett has had one-half of a bad outting. He looked great for the first [...]

Limp Sticks.

For the series, they left 34 men on base and were 7 of 41 (.170) in clutch situations.   That’s pathetic.
Oh and since we are not going to get any offense out of 3rd base until A-Rod returns, can we at least play the guy who can field the ball (Pena).  There’s a reason Angel Berroa [...]

The Lost Weekend

Starring Ray Milland as a befuddled Joe Girardi.
Russ’s last post was written before last night’s game, I wonder if he felt as I did, that there was no way to salvage a win yesterday after the first two demoralizing defeats.
What would be more appropriate than a steal of home to ice the cake. A beautiful in-your-face [...]
