Gee, where have I seen this before?  Oh yeah, 2005, 2006, 2008 …..  I know it’s one game, actually as I write this they’re losing game 2 as well 7-1.  Wang… he was awful, just awful.  Almost every pitch was belt high.  I didn’t see CC pitch, but from what I saw of the highlights, his pitches were up too.  What is so difficult about this team getting off to a good start?  I mean two games doesn’t qualify really for any kind of a start, but if you’ve got the track record of this team of the past couple of years, you tend to get nervous pretty quickly.  Ok so now it’s 7-2, at least Posada and Cano are hitting (high five Mike T for those fantasy selections).  I think I said this last year, but my confidence in Dave Eiland is like at an all time low.  I mean, it was pretty important to dump Guidry as the pitching coach…. I don’t even want to go into it —- it’s too early.

Ok…. realistically, when does the pressure really start to mount?  When do the so-called “nervous nellies” such as myself start to be seen as not so much as “nervous” but “prophetic?”  When does this lineup start to grip the bats too tightly……. and as I write this they have Cano on third with less than two out and Nady and Ransom both have unproductive outs.  What a disgrace.  Is Texeira already gripping the bat too tightly?   When do we start to become concerned that 0-2 becomes 0-3, which turns into something like 3-6?  With the competition in this division, can that be tolerated?  Should it be tolerated?    You just worry about a team getting hot initially and running off – while the good ‘ol Yanks sort out their issues of “pressure.”  I want to remain calm, but it is hard to have confidence in this group.
