The Elias Sports Bureau has to be one of the coolest places to work.  The amount of minutiae that they can find is mind boggling.  Until yesterday, did anyone know who George Mogridge was?  You do now:

CC Sabathia issued five walks without a strikeout over 4 1/3 innings in the Yankees’ 10-5 loss to the Orioles. Sabathia was the first Yankees pitcher in the live-ball era not to strike out a batter in an opening-day start. The only previous opening-day starter without a strikeout for the Yankees was George Mogridge in 1918 (3 2/3 innings). (source)
