I’ve seen this movie before
by John SI’m glad for Hughes, especially after his difficulties as one of the Cashman anointed wunderkind of last year. But this happens all the time, a non-rotation guy gets a start, does well, and the media inks him in to the rotation the next day and declares one starter-slot problem solved for the season and beyond.
I’m making that statement cold, I haven’t seen, read, or listened to  anything post-game yet, but see if I’m right or not.

good observation. hughes was excellent last night. i’ve been a supporter of his all along. everyone was on the joba bandwagon, but when heathy (which he is i think) hughes is every bit as good or maybe better. we can only hope that joba and the yanks realize that the team is better with him in the pen. i know joba wants to start, but you can’t deny that. hey, bring up the austin kid and stop this charade in centerfield. we need one outfielder out there that can defend.
