I’m Back! Or, the Yankee Brain Disgust (instead of Trust)

Ok, I took a little sabatical with the new baby, but I have been watching.  Here are some thoughts:
1) To all you A-Rod detractors out there.  There is no denying this team needs him.  He is such a presence that makes everyone better, the offense is so much better with him.  But I thought that [...]

Yankee Deadtable?

Did everyone pay their internet provider bill? Or maybe everyone is on vacation?

Joba

John, that’s a good argument.  I was a strong proponent of making Joba a starter.  But now after 9 starts, he is merely an ordinary starter yet he was an outstanding reliever.  I’m not sure we should give up yet, but a couple of more starts where he gives up 4 runs and can’t make [...]

The door is wide open…

The door is wide open for moving Joba to the bullpen…where he belongs.
Joba has started nine games this season.  He completed 7 innings only once, 6 innings only three times, and threw under 5 innings in three other starts. He isn’t going deep enough into games to justify keeping him in the rotation when he can [...]

Maybe we need Yankee tattoos

My daughters were at the Stadium for Friday’s game (unsuccessful result). My son was in Arlington at yesterday’s game (better result), and wife, daughter and self planning on Friday at Scranton Yankees.  I have to check out Austin Jackson for John B.
I notice that 30 year old Shelley Duncan is still on the roster at [...]

Can’t get greedy

I would have liked to take 2 of 3 from Philly, but all in all not a bad extended weekend.  Hughes was great yesterday and probably earned another start.  Looks like A-Rod is breaking out.  What was nice about yesterday’s performance was that it came after a tough loss, a long flight and a game [...]

Ten tonight?

I don’t think my post is going to have any bearing on whether they win or lose tonight…so here goes…
Are the Yanks instituting a Yankee Stadium advantage? Or at least the perception of one? Honestly, the homers are flying out for both the Yankees and the opposition. So,  it’s more of a matter that they Yankees [...]

Return on Investment

Some dividends flowing in from some of our high price tags, Teixeira, CC, and A-Rod. The cross-towner Metsies are looking downright silly but our team is in a good place.  As to ESPN/Bosox if you are correct that constitutes slanted and biased reporting! Who do they think they are, the New York Times?

All quiet…

I know, everyone is afraid to post about the Yankees win streak, fearing that they”ll jinx them.  Well, if they lose tonight you can blame me.  I am enjoying watching them again. No question that A-rod coming back has helped the team, especially Texiera, who is hitting some bombs.  I liked Gardener’s dash for home [...]

Negative Nancies

7 in a Row.  Injured players returning.  Contributions from unexpected places.  Slumps turned around.  I guess we have a lot more to say when they are doing poorly.
