Yankees should take a page from the Vatican
by Mike TI heard today on CBS 880 that the press was trying to get information from the Vatican concerning the problems Ron Howard had shooting “Angels and Demons”. The story is that apparently Howard couldn’t get permits to shoot anywhere in Rome that had a Catholic church in the background. When asked about the permit issue, the Vatican spokesman refused to comment saying the charges are purely designed to drum up publicity.
The church has been working the press for 2000 years, the Yankees, just under 100 (as the Yankees – its about 108 if you count their years as the Highlanders and the Orioles).  The Vatican know how to kill a story, just shut up.
Every quote that Girardi and Jeter and the rest of the idiots in the clubhouse give that goes something like “Tipping pitches…I’ve never heard of that” or “Why would someone want to write a book like that?” or “You have to ask Alex” or “We have to move on” just perpetuates the story. The answer has to be “No comment. We are not in the business of tabloid book sales. We talk about today’s game or tomorrow’s game, anything other than that. No comment.” If people stop getting responses, they eventually stop asking questions. A-Rod had the right idea last week. “I’m not going there.” If need be, he should take on the Manny Ramirez role – take your shower and go home.  Don’t answer any questions and just play ball.
