I like how Cervelli handles himself behind the plate. He’s not intimidated by established big-name starters. He has a gun. He was hitting .190 in Double A. But, he’s been productive at the plate in the majors up to this point. I think this goes to show that, for position players, “time on the farm” may be overrated. The guy either has it or he doesn’t have it.

Cody Ransom? Doesn’t have it. That’s why he has been a career minor leaguer.

I say bring some of these guys up and give them a shot. Like Austin Jackson. He either has it….or he doesn’t.  Once they’ve learned how to play the game, it reasons to think that they are going to learn more at the major league level. From major league players, major league situations, etc. etc. etc.
