The Roundtable missed you.  Hope the baby is doing great.  I agree with you.  Tonight and from now on, we need to see some smart pitching from Joba.  He needs to conserve his pitches. He needs to go 7 innings.  Over the weekend, Cashman was adamant about Joba being a starter.  Ok, the he has to act like one.  Expecially when there are two guys ready to take his place.

Now on to Gardener.  I like him, but he made a couple of costly mistakes this weekend.  I still think he has potential.  Let’s see if he learns from these mistakes.  If it wasn’t for his speed, he wouldn’t be on the team.  He needs to be agressive all the time, especially when given the steal sign, he’s gotta go.  That probably cost the Yankees the game.

Lastly, I’m disappointed that the Yankees didn’t blast Pavano all over the ball park.  I guess I should be happy he didn’t get the win.  Well, we’re still in first and Ortiz is still below the Mendoza line.  So, not bad.
