It was close for a while last night, but the Nats are once again proof that MLB in the Washington D.C. area is a waste of life. From the old Washington Senators whose only victory was in fiction in “Damn Yankees” to the flight to Texas to the Expos to this year where they could be challenging the ‘62 Mets for the worst record ever – the franchise has no purpose except to be a bargaining chip whenever the notion of removing MLB’s favorable legal status comes up.

There are probably a thousand Redskins fans for every Nationals fan.  Just don’t see the need for this team’s existence. Even if he got the job, Bobby Valentine should stay in Japan.
