Outpitched
by John SAfter last night’s game, Posada was interviewed and said, “it felt like the old Wang.” Pronouncing it phonetically, not correctly as “Wong”, of course. Don’t think Jorge realized he got off a funny there. Guess Wang pitched not extremely crappy so he gets another start.
I called my son during the game, the Nats winning pitcher John Lannan graduated from his high school the year before he did. My son doesn’t remember that he was a phenom pitcher when he was in school. Lannan is 4 and 5 with a horrible team with a 3.38 ERA, grew up in Long Beach a Yankee fan. He also shut-out the Mets in a complete game less than 2 weeks ago. Last night the Yanks did zero to get Lannan out of his rhythm, e.g. stepping out, loitering, talking to the ump, they just stood in and got mowed down quick and easy. John Flaherty picked up on that, no one in the brainy NYY dug-out did though.
