Getting in the mood…
Perhaps I will add the link, but this one does a much better job of setting the mood for the series:

Some thoughts:
Jason Bay is hurt and will miss at least the first two games. That’s a plus for the Yankees since he’s killed them.
Boston is slow. With Bay out…even slower. Victor Martinez, Youkilis, Drew, Varitek, Papi…all slow on the basepaths. Only Pedroia and Elsbury have speed. Double plays a-plenty.
Boston will see a different Yankee bullpen than [...]

The first game is the key to the series. Win tonight then three out of four is doable and a sweep is possible. Lose tonight and you look to split the series at best.
I agree that pitching is very important and that’s why we have CC and Burnett.  However, the Red Sox are going to [...]

Pitching, Pitching, Pitching. This is why the Yankess got Sabathia and Burnett. Let’s see these guys come up big. Yankee bats are better than the Sox right now so I think they will score some runs. Joba has pitched well but will have an extra 2 days rest, so who knows. Pettitte is pitching well, [...]

Yanks vs. Boston. Yanks ahead in standings but 0-8 this year. Big Papi having a mediocre year, don’t you hate it when they go off steroids and break down (assuming he has gone off). Yanks pitching matchups look good to me except Beckett always kills us. We don’t have to face Wakefield though, that’s good. [...]
