Wunderkind adds Wagner.
by Mike TTheo has apparently completed the Wagner trade, landing Wagner for a couple of prospects. Wagner agreed to waive his no-trade on the condition that the Sox don’t pick up his option (but they are allowed to offer arbitration), which if he declines they have a good chance at landing two compensation picks. Wagner can only pitch every three days because of his rehab. Â
Now, the quesiton is how does the Roundtable think this will turn out for the SOX:
- Super successfull – Wagner is lights out – ERA under 1.80, lots of K’s.
- Marginal – Wagner no better than other Sox options
- Another Theo failure – Wagner is inneffective, Sox rarely use him.
- Unmitigated Dissaster of Gagne proportions – Wagner serves batting practice.
My guess is it doesn’t turn out well for the Sox. He’s comming off Tommy John surgery and is not ready. I sense that AL hitters will tee off on him.
