Theo has apparently completed the Wagner trade, landing Wagner for a couple of prospects.  Wagner agreed to waive his no-trade on the condition that the Sox don’t pick up his option (but they are allowed to offer arbitration), which if he declines they have a good chance at landing two compensation picks.  Wagner can only pitch every three days because of his rehab.

Now, the quesiton is how does the Roundtable think this will turn out for the SOX:

  • Super successfull – Wagner is lights out – ERA under 1.80, lots of K’s.
  • Marginal – Wagner no better than other Sox options
  • Another Theo failure – Wagner is inneffective, Sox rarely use him.
  • Unmitigated Dissaster of Gagne proportions – Wagner serves batting practice.

My guess is it doesn’t turn out well for the Sox.  He’s comming off Tommy John surgery and is not ready.  I sense that AL hitters will tee off on him.
