Given Matsui thanks to Mike T, could Bernie Williams have kept him company in center in 2003? I’m guessing that since I think Knoblauch was long gone by 2003(?)
Is this NYY all-time? Given Gehrig’s consecutive game streak, I’m surprised no one from that era played every game in a single year alongside him.

My guess would have been Hideki Matsui and Derek Jeter.

Matsui had that streak that he was keeping alive for the first couple of years after coming over from Japan and Jeter is very durable.

But after looking at the three years that Matsui played in every game (2003, 2004, 2005) I learned I was wrong (rather, I was half right). Matusi is one half of the answer. I’l refrain from disclosing the other player.
