Oddsmakers/Could be worse…
At least she’s a lot better to look at than… say, Jeter’s parents.

I like the roster moves.Â
What I found interesting was that each time the Yankees “opened” a new facility, they played in the world series that year. 1923 – They won beating the NY Giants in six games. The clinching game was at the Polo Grounds. 1976 – They lost defeated by the Cin. Reds in [...]

No, not the odds of the Yanks winning the series.  The Wall St. Journal today says the offshore betting odds are 2 to 3 that Kate Hudson will be shown on TV at least three times in Game 1. I hope the Fox TV director doesn’t read that and figure a way to place bets on [...]

Dropping Guzman, adding Hinske.
Dropping Cerveli, adding Bruney.
This should now put a definitive stamp on Posada catching AJ. Adding another arm to the pen is a good idea as well (especially given how the pen has been performing). Also, this should help to curb Girardi’s pinch-running parade.

Just for fun, I took a stroll down memory lane, back to May 22 and the first Interleague series of 2009 in New Yankee Stadium.
In game 1, A.J Burnett was asked to match up against the Philadelphia Phillies and Brett Myers. How did he respond, by allowing a lead off HR to Jimmy Rollins, a [...]

Not that I want to bring up the bad stuff right after the Yankees win the pennant, but…
I just wanted to say that I disagree with most of you about the management of Game 5. I thought that it was absolutely the right move to bring AJ out to start the 7th. He had a [...]

When you watched his beautiful breaking ball hitting the strike zone in the early innings last night it was such an encouraging sign that it would turn out right. Since Pettitte spent three years in Houston you often don’t hear about him in the same breath as Jeter, Posada, and Rivera. But since 1996 what [...]

Congratulations on the 40th American League pennant. What a job by Andy Pettitte, who came back to pitch in a game like this. How grateful is every Yankee fan for Andy Pettitte and the job he did last night. Focused, determined and he made quality pitches when he had to. I, personally was hoping for [...]

After coming back from a four run deficit and taking the lead by two runs in the seventh inning you must win the game, especially with the Yankees bull pen.
I don’t care how few pitches AJ through, I was shocked when he started the seventh inning. And given the long half inning I was in [...]

Russ mentioned not letting them up off the floor. Did anyone see the post-game interviews? Lackey was hard on the umpires for the Posada AB but I say “Shut up – Teixeira worked a walk in the 1st that would have made it bases loaded, no out, Big AL up. You don’t think the inning [...]
