Cashman Strikes First

The Granderson trade looks like it is a done deal.  Here’s what the teams get:

Yankees – Curtis Granderson (DET)
Detroit – Max Scherzer (AZ), Daniel Schlereth (AZ), Austin Jackson (NY) and Phil Coke (NY)
Arizona – Edwin Jackson (DET) and Ian Kennedy (DET)

You’d better be right about this one….

That phrase is usually uttered in these situations.  I don’t mind picking up Granderson, he can hit 20 HRs, 20 triples and 40 doubles pretty easily.   I think putting Jackson in the deal probably gives up too much.  There’s got to be another way.  I don’t mind giving up Kennedy, I’m not sure he’ll ever [...]

Granderson-to-Yanks hits snag, and I think I’m glad

Yankees get Curtis Granderson, one or two prospects from the D-backs
Arizona gets Ian Kennedy, Edwin Jackson
Detroit gets Austin Jackson, Phil Coke, Mike Dunn, Max Scherzer

Bye Bye Bruney

Yanks traded Bruney to the Nationals for what amounts to the Nat’s first pick in the Rule 5 draft, and the yankees will tell them who to draft.  Looks like a smart move by Cash.
