In the 70’s it was the great quote by Sparky Lyle, dumped by NYY upon acquiring Goose Gossage…. “From Cy Young to Sayonara”… Now it’s Matsui… “From Series to Sayonara.”  For Matsui personally I think it’s a good move – warmer climate may help his aching knees. Plus he is geograpically closer to his “fan base” in Japan.
