Oooooooo.. that’s as cold as being stranded on Hoth about the Mets ticket season subscribers. 

Anyway…  this is typical Boras.  I don’t know if he doesn’t believe Cashman or what.  I think Cashman is slightly bluffing in that there is more money but clearly they are communicating to Damon that they are not going to the $7 mill figure range that is over.  I think the $2 mill is crazy – that is so insulting that I would not blame Damon if he went to another team for that.  The real answer lies somewhere in the middle and Boras shouldn’t push it because I think the Yankees will start the season without Damon.  Ultimately, I want Damon back because I like the top of the lineup with him in it. 

The Mets are crazy.  I don’t know why they do this.  They dump Willie Randolph for Jerry Manuel, and now for some reason, it’s all Manuel’s fault and it’s over for him because they are setting him up for failure.  This team that they have assembled and there’s no reason to think there will be any dramatic improvements in the next 22 days, is a disaster.  That sets up the Manuel firing – paving the way for Wally Backman, the public relations move they will need to distract the fans when they are 10 games out in June.
