Yanks roll, Sox reel

Hey Russ…are you still concerned about Boston? That stellar outfield defense is stuck in the trainers room….and it wasn’t all that stellar when it was on the field.

20 Innings

I watched the game from the 8th inning on.  It consumed my whole night.  I couldn’t look away.  It was captivating.
If there could be such a thing, this was a real embarrassing win for the Mets.
18th inning: Mets can’t score off of non-pitcher #1
19th inning: Mets only manage 1 run off of non-pitcher #2, K-Rod [...]

The Keystone cops revisited

An ancient cinematic reference hopefully known to all.  Across town….
My wife,  her cousin (Mets fan) and I watched the Mets 20 inning game from inning 13 on, just stumbled on it. It was hilarious, I sure you read about it. I’m not exaggerating… I was laughing myself silly. Two position players pitching for StL, pitchers [...]

Gimme a C! Gimme an A! Gimme an N! Gimme an O! What does it spell? M-V-P!

That’s right.  He’s locked in.  He’s focused.  He’s en fuego.  He’s hot.  He can do the conga, the tango, the hustle, the locomotion, the macarena, the electric slide …. and still have no wrinkles in his shirt.
We all knew it would come to this.   The only thing missing from the guy’s life is that Sterling [...]

John from Cortlandt Manor

John B. , was that you I heard on Boomer and Carton this morning, doing the “in the Nick of Time” Johnson home run call?

Shame Time

I am annoyed with Teixeira already.  Mostly because I drafted him in my fantasy baseball team over Miguel Cabrera and Evan Longoria.  I understand slow starts, but he keeps coming up with men on base and doing nothing.  I also know that this is likely temporary and that once he starts he doesn’t stop, but [...]

UG-LEE

Here’s the ring.  A complete Vanity piece for George.  “Steinbrenner Tradition”  Puh-Lease.  And the “Unity” thing is something that should be on a fraternity ring.   The stadium is a nice touch, sort of.  Shouldn’t is say something like 27 time world champions or something.

Oh and by the way, Jeter played a joke on Matsui.  He [...]

Bernie just bounced the ceremonial first pitch

He never did have an arm.

Chan Ho Park is having problems

Well, you have to say that Park is very honest and forthright in his interviews.

That’s Joba Chamberlain and David Robertson who can’t stop laughing every time he says the D word. I like the look on Rivera’s face as well.

My Hall of Fame Sojurn (or OMG! I Can’t Believe it!)

Ok so I have a significant birthday coming up and we decided to go up to Cooperstown for a couple of days.  I’ve been to Cooperstown about 15 times but what made this trip special was that  my wife knows someone who interned at the Hall of Fame Library.  This person was able to arrange [...]
