So Lebron’s going to Cleveland.  I guess that is a big admission that he can’t win a championship as “The Man.”  I though NY offered him the chance at immortality, Chicago offered him championships (but Jordon comparisons) and Cleveland was all about loyalty.  Miami – with Wade and Bosh, it seems like Lebron would be one of the “Untouchables” as opposed to James Bond.  How does Wade react to the Chalk in the air trick every night (When it’s Wade’s team).  Who gets introduced last?  I know they are friends and all, but I’m not sure how this plays out.  We’ll have to wait and see.

The funny thing about the process is that you have to remember Lebron is 25 years old. Just think about the ludicrousness of the meetings he had. He had millionaires/billionaires fllying to Cleveland to meet him in his own offices.  These men show up n $1000 suits and in black SUV caravans, Lebron shows up in shorts and nike work out shirt.  He was never serious about any of the courtship.  He and Wade made a deal years ago, and now it came to fruition.  The bad news for the Knicks was that Miami was the team that cleared the most space to let this happen.

The other interesting angle is how the losing out owners reacted.  Dolan and D’Antoni at Amare Soutemare’s press conference yesterday touted Amare’s “courage” to be the first to sign.  The first to take on the challenge.  They basically knew they were out of the running so they called Lebron a chicken. (Interesting side note was Dolan saying that when Amare said yes, Dolan’s reaction was “Really?” – All the reason you need know why the Knicks have been awful under his ownership).

As for Cleveland, well their owner is flat out crazy.  If you haven’t seen his letter to Cleveland fans you should check it out.  He basically called Lebron a cowardly, selfish, narcissistic, disloyal, quitter.  And you thought Steinbrenner was crazy.  This guy is nuts.

Now on to the Cliff Lee rumors!!!
