LeBron, LeBron……. this just tells me that he is more interested in outside acitivities than basketball, his chosen professional. He’s more interested in being an international superstar, he’s more interested in hanging out in south beach, he’s more interested in marketing than he is in his legacy. That’s his earned right – he can go where he wants, but he will never be looked at the same way again. South Beach might be the cool place to hang out, but it’s still only South Beach, the world doesn’t really take notice of what goes on in Miami. I mean if LeBron wants to be on the international level, NY would be the place, not Miami. But I guess he’s 25, he’s got alot of money and just wants to hang out with the other celebrities down there. He will never be looked at in the same light as Jeter who shows total devotion to his craft. He can’t even be looked at (heaven help me because I don’t like the guy) as being on the same level as Kobe. I mean, we’ll say he’s good and all, sure… but in basketball where one guy can change everything, he’ll be viewed as somewhat ducking the issue. Besides, the team is still second class citizens to the Dolphins. The Knicks only seem like an afterthought now, but when they were good in the 90’s, New York is a basketball town. Some say NY’s heart is for baseball, and it’s soul is owned by basketball. LeBron could have had that. As for the TV show, I caught it at just the right time, at 8:21pm, but it was embarrassing. LeBron looked timid, unsure of himself and it sounds like he didn’t even really consider the Knicks (or the Nets), never even talked to the Cleveland owner (not mature), and Chicago wasn’t even a real thought. He was going to Miami all along. How dull….

As far as trading for Lee goes…. I think the strategy is that the bullpen stinks. And if the bullpen stinks, let’s have our starters go 7 or 8 innings and then try to hand it off to Rivera. Although Montero is a catching prospect, many reports say his defense is not that good, in which case he may project to be a first baseman (got one), a DH (who needs another one of those) or an outfielder (I can find another one who can probably hit better). Anyway, I know everyone is going to hate the Yankees even more by getting Lee, but for years our farm system was laughed at. No one’s laughing anymore. Besides, the idea is to get Crawford over the winter. And, I would never say “no” to more pitching. It is what wins games.
