It’s another reminder that the old Stadium is gone. I always associated Bob’s voice with the old Stadium and when I visualize the Stadium in my mind’s eye, Bob’s voice is the soundtrack that accompanies it. I can hear it now…”Your attention please. Ladies & Gentlemen.” Or,”Good afternoon, the Yankees welcome you to opening day…” It’s of course sad, however, Bob left a distinctive mark on the lives of fans, co-workers, and baseball and that’s saying alot. I read this morning that he shared the same birthday as Mickey Mantle – you can’t get anymore pinstriped than that. Farewell, Bob, your voice echoes in my mind. My condolences to his family.
