That’s a man

In the picture I saw,  A-Rod was not wearing swim goggles to protect against burning champagne eye syndrome but Cano and Swisher were.
The larger question is whether the wild card clinching deserves a champagne celebration? The team certainly limped into it the last three weeks or so.
At least we are not giving away tickets like [...]

AJ BUMMER

AJ should not start any games in the playoffs, assuming the Yankees make the playoffs.  I would go with Hughes as the number two starter given Andy’s adjustment period after his injury.  If I need a fourth starter I would use Nova/Mosley/Vasquez and try to get a decent six innings from them.  AJ is a [...]

Can AJ play special teams?

Well… that’s it for AJ.  I say send him over to Tom Coughlin and perhaps he can play special teams.  Hey, at least maybe the Bears will knock some sense into him.   I said this last month that a post season start was in doubt for him and everyone was saying Hughes was out.
It [...]

Papelbon and other…

Papelbon’s stuff has so much movement and crosses in-and-out of the strike zone so sharply that umpires mistake strikes for balls.  Then, he gets in a bad count and is forced to throw a fastball…which is as flat and straight as the day is long. And we all know what happens next…
The Yankees have a lot of [...]

Papelbon the baby

So, little Jonathan is crying again.  He blames the umpire for his blown save against the Yankees last night.  I was at the game, so I couldn’t see clearly, but you could tell that the strike zone was a little off.  But, that wasn’t just against him, it was against the Yankees too.  Rivera blew [...]

No Gaudin

Could someone please put a new page in Joe Girardi’s three ring binder that says the following:
Do not use Chad Gaudin

The end of this season; a closing comment on Willie

I’m not really forming opinions on the performance of CC down the stretch here.  At best, there have been mixed signals about going for the division and just wrapping up a playoff spot, the “flying casual” thing.  Generally speaking, I think CC wants to pitch well and he wants to get another CY young award, [...]

Omen

Cue Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, and the makeup guy who put the 666 on the kid.
If CC can’t outduel their ace, it’s at least good we can’t face Tampa in the ALDS, we will have life until then. Our early runs were on a great pitch, Thames had some weird DNA to handle that one, [...]

Randolph will never manage New York Yankees

I’ve obviously hit a nerve here. I must have found a Wille Randolph fan.
Here is my logic as to why Willie Randolph will never manage the Yankees.

He failed with the Mets. Whatever the reason, he failed. I know, I know…so did Torre. But George isn’t alive anymore…and Hal isn’t his father. He’s not going to make [...]

that’s cold

Willie who? Oy gavalt! I swear I must be losing my mind. Is nothing sacre anymore? Willie should have been judged by what happened on the field not because he wouldn’t kiss jeff wilpon’s you know wwhat. He brought that lousy team on the brink of a world series. When someone else brings [...]
