So Texiera now says he will try to bunt against the shift. What a revelation. Only took him 4 years in pinstripes to make that decision. He’s still not 100% committed, saying… that if he is one for twenty in bunting he’ll have to go back to the drawing board. What confidence!

Good Trade. Not sure if Montero will ever be better than a below average catcher, and this team does not need a 23 year old DH. So, I’d rather have a young arm that throws 95+ with lots of upside.

No one played the game with more passion. I think he will have a hard time leaving the game. I wouldn’t be surprised if he winds up on the coaching staff in 2013.

We are all saying the same thing. The offense lost this series. What bothers me, with Swisher and Tex in particular, is that they refuse to adjust their approach when it is obvious to everyone that they are being pitched away. Selfish or stupid? Or both?

Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done with this team in the off season. They only position player that can or should be changed is Swisher. We don’t need a .300 hitter or a 30 home run guy. We need a guy who knows how to put the ball in play. I agree, bring up the killer B’s. Let’s see how they do.

Yankees up 7-0. Situation was screaming for Soriano, Robertson and Mo. But Girardi was true to his word that they were not going to pitch. The RedSox would have a beef if they weren’t so inept for the whole month. I loved that Papelbon blew it. He needs to close his mouth. Listening to sports talk on the radio, you’d think the Rays did something magical. Truth is, they were very lucky. They played sightly above average for September, and almost lost to a triple A pitching staff in the final game. Price was pitiful last night.

Colon has been terrible for 2 months and he’s supposed to be the #3 starter. Garcia has looked bad too. I don’t think his crafty style translates well in the playoffs. He hits too many bats. Don’t be surprised if A.J. is the #3. The only way the Yankees win a playoff series is if they score an average 9 runs a game.

It was fun to see Girardi go nuts last night. Threw his hat but didn’t kick it. Bad call. In the post game he said the Ump told him the “Hit by pitch caused him to swing” Huh?

Russ, you had some very strong opinions about this team in the beginning of the season and what Cashman had done in the off season. How about an opinion update? In the words of the computer to Spock in Star Trek 4… How do you feel?

Girardi screwed up. Game should have been protested. It would have been an interesting decision for Torre to make as EVP of Baseball Ops. If the Yankees lose the division by one game, we’ll all be pointing to that game. The real problem in that game was that the bat was stuck to Posada’s shoulder for 3 straight strikes with bases loaded in the 9th. Jorge, it’s time to move on.

Is it true that Jeter is going to get a3 year extension on his current contract?

Couldn’t agree more with John. Nunie may have a decent stick, but he can’t field. They could really use Chavez now. Also, what happened to Colon? Was the first half of the season an aberration? OK, Rothschild… you’re up… figure this out. Cashman, start making calls for a starter and an infielder.
