I don’t know if anyone else was getting pissed off at aging Yankee-hater Tim McCarver during the Fox broadcast his weekend, but I was. Aside from adding nothing to the game (and coming up with the ludicrous theory that AJ hurt is hand throwing a pie in Swisher’s face), the guy finds a way to disparage the Yankees in every game he covers. He was going on and on about how the Yankees are still mistreating Torre and how they are trying to erase him from existence. Then he went a little to far. This article details the incident and adds a nice refute.

That’s all I really have to say. I’m just tired of it. His inconsistency is intolerable. On any day you just don’t know what you are going to get. He can throw a masterful one-hit shutout, or get completely shelled in three innings and be forced from the game. It doesn’t matter the opponent. There’s no rhyme or reason. It’s a crapshoot pitching him in an important game.

Are we making up for last year?

We need another big game from Andy tonight. Five games back would not be fun.

Vazquez pitches a good game today (7 innings, 2 runs, 7 Ks), but he still gets the loss. The offense let him down. Pena killed them in big situations today. Anyway, one well-pitched game means nothing unless he follows it up with another. Tough task for Javy on Sunday against the Twins’ big bats in front of a packed house at the Stadium. We shall see.

This place is as quiet as Bernie Williams before a game.

Take a look at the picture in the post below. Interesting things to note:

Posada is grabbing Rivera’s leg… Posada is out with a calf injury.
Rivera (I assume) has his hand around Posada’s side… Rivera is out with a “flank” injury.
Pettitte is touching Posada’s arm… Pettitte is out with an elbow injury.

This is quite the coincidence. I’m glad Jeter is keeping to himself with his arms crossed.
