Off-Season Losses

Apparently, we won’t have Kim Jones roaming random stadia this season.  According to an article  in Newsday that I missed, Kim Jones did not renew her contract with YES.  I guess the YES talent acquistion team needs to find some new eye candy, preferably one a litte sweeter tasting than Ms. Jones.
Update: Nomaas.com suggests that [...]

A.J. Trade Rumor!!

Ok.  How about a real Yankees story worth talking about.  Acording to ESPN the Yankees have been trying to trade A.J. Burnett this off-season and are far along in the process with the Pittsburgh Pirates.  There were apparently 4 teams involved in the Burnett trade talks, but one of them was on Burnett’s “veto” list [...]

Lin-sanity!

A nice sample now, and Lin still looks like the real deal.  Now the real question:  Does he make Carmelo better or does Carmelo make him worse? Team play has been a big thing.  Will everyone stand around and watch Melo again when he’s back.  We’ll find out soon. I feel Stoudemire won’t be a [...]

Bob Lorenz charged with drunken driving

More excitment

Yankees picked up Russel Branyan and Bill Hall.  Anyone following the Knicks and this Harvard kid Jeremy Lin?  Wouldn’t it be nice if he’s the real deal?

Exciting

Yanks looking at Damon, Matsui, Ibanez. Hmmm. Think I’ll just watch my DVR’ed Super Bowl XLVI game again.
Kim Jones left YES – that story has more interest than the above!

If he is off….

…. on the cheatin’ side of town, Brian Cashman should have scouted his off-season call-up partner a little more, probably not have even drafted her.
You could take this anywhere with baseball analogies.

Texiera

So Texiera now says he will try to bunt against the shift.  What a revelation.  Only took him 4 years in pinstripes to make that decision.   He’s still not 100% committed, saying… that if he is one for twenty in bunting he’ll have to go back to the drawing board. What confidence!

Posada

After 17 years Posada can retire comfortably. The salary structure is such that you don’t need that last “hang on” year any more. Babe Ruth with the Boston Braves (although he was hoping for a manager slot), Hank Aaron with the Brewers (saw him live vs. NYY at Shea), Willie Mays and Duke Snider with [...]

Montero/Pineda

Good Trade.  Not sure if Montero will ever be better than a below average catcher, and this team does not need a 23 year old DH.  So, I’d rather have a young arm that throws 95+ with lots of upside.
